Somebody vs HeyGen

HeyGen is best known for AI video. Its real-time product, LiveAvatar, streams an avatar from the cloud for developers to build on. Somebody is a finished agent platform whose face is rendered in the visitor’s browser.

Which one fits

An honest way to choose.

Choose HeyGen when

You want avatar video as a building block

  • You already make HeyGen videos and want the same avatar live
  • You need 1080p photorealistic video and high concurrency
  • Your team will build the agent logic around a streaming API

Choose Somebody when

You want a working agent, not a video API

  • The agent should be present on the page for every visitor, not only after a click
  • It needs to act: navigate, fill forms, build a cart
  • You train people and need scores and an LMS export
  • You want to run on your own OpenAI, Gemini or Azure agreement

What it costs

On LiveAvatar’s public plans a full-stack minute works out at about $0.16 to $0.18, and an avatar-only minute at about $0.08 to $0.09 before your own speech and model costs.

Somebody counts minutes only while a conversation is active. Pro is $29 a month with 150 avatar minutes on Included AI, or 1,000 on your own AI keys, where your provider bills you separately for the model. Extra minutes are $0.12 with Included AI and $0.03 with your own keys.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Still curious? Ask our agent — it knows the product inside out.

Is this a comparison with HeyGen’s video generator?

No. HeyGen’s video generator makes videos you publish. This page compares live, two-way agents, which on HeyGen’s side is LiveAvatar. For video against live agents, see our general comparison.

Does Somebody make videos?

No. Somebody agents hold live conversations. Many teams use an AI video tool for one-way content and Somebody where people need to talk back.

What about very high concurrency?

Somebody plans include 3 or 5 simultaneous conversations, and Enterprise is custom. Because waiting agents hold no session, concurrency counts only people who are talking at the same moment.
