Which one fits
An honest way to choose.
Choose D-ID when
You want a photo-based video avatar
- You want an avatar made from a photo, with a video look
- You also make D-ID videos and want one vendor
- You want answers that show which uploaded document they came from
Choose Somebody when
You want the agent present and able to act
- The agent should be present on the page for every visitor, not only after a click
- It needs to act: navigate, fill forms, build a cart
- You train people and need scores and an LMS export
- You want to run on your own OpenAI, Gemini or Azure agreement
What it costs
D-ID’s Agents pricing was not readable on its public pricing page when we checked, so we make no price comparison here. Ask D-ID how idle time in an open session is billed.
Somebody counts minutes only while a conversation is active. Pro is $29 a month with 150 avatar minutes on Included AI, or 1,000 on your own AI keys, where your provider bills you separately for the model. Extra minutes are $0.12 with Included AI and $0.03 with your own keys.

Is Somebody a D-ID alternative?
For a talking agent on a website, yes. D-ID is the closer fit when you want a photorealistic avatar generated from a photo, or videos and agents from one vendor.
Both use a script tag. What is different?
What the script loads. D-ID’s opens a video stream when a conversation starts. Somebody’s draws the face in the browser, so the agent is live on the page before anyone clicks and costs nothing while it waits.
Can a Somebody agent use my documents?
Yes. Upload documents, link pages and add FAQs, and the agent answers from what you approve and can show it on screen.
